The Good, The Bad, The Weird

In 1930’s Manchuria, three Korean gunslingers cross paths in a bloody vendetta over a treasure map containing the location of a lost fortune. The HighsThis film is fun in every sense of the word. The beginning sequence on the train is perhaps one of the most exciting, enthralling openings to any film I’ve ever seen. I…

A shadowy and nefarious plan to release all of the monsters leaves the fate of Earth hanging by a thread and, once again, Godzilla comes forth to restore the balance….

Triple Threat

A billionaire’s daughter is intent on bringing down a local crime syndicate and, when a bounty is placed on her head, an unlikely team of mercenaries must join together to protect her. The HighsThe fight scenes involving Scott Adkins are the best thing about this film. There are some other okay action moments, and some of…

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum

John Wick’s actions in the previous film – killing a member of the High Table – has labelled him excommunicado. With a $14 million dollar bounty on his head, he has few friends and nowhere to run. The HighsI love that Chad Stahelski returned to form with Parabellum, and fights here are actually exciting and frenetic. In Chapter…

Jurassic Park

Dragged Across Concrete

I wish I would stop torturing myself. I must be some kind of masochist, and my favored instruments of suffering are S. Craig Zahler films. All of the things I hated about Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99 are present here. The writing. I don’t understand how someone can write something so inane. It…

Blood Father

This film is pretty bland throughout, except for Mel Gibson. The beard. The gravelly voice. The hilarious dark humor. Those are the high notes. The script is pretty bad. The plot is as cliche as it gets. I can’t remember anything about the score. Worth watching for Mel Gibson, and that’s about it.

Death Proof

Literally one of the most boring films I have ever watched. There’s really nothing else I can even say. I appreciate Tarantino’s technical prowess, but this is just soporific.
