Mid90’s is a (cautionary) tale of growing up and struggling to fit in.
The performances were fine and the cinematography was different but it fit the style of the film.
There is very little plot here, and almost no character development. Mid90’s is a film about a group of people that the viewer doesn’t care about. Jonah Hill hits on a lot of emotional issues, but none of them ever feel real.
I couldn’t help thinking that the entire thing would be more believable – and perhaps more enjoyable – if Sunny Suljic (Stevie) didn’t look like he was 9 years old.
